Devon van Oostrum will be looking to make his ACB debut this week after being added to Caja Laboral’s roster for the ACB playoffs.
Baskonia’s playoff run starts on Thursday night against Gescrap Bizkaia, with van Oostrum being the surprise addition to the squad after completing his season on loan to LEB Gold side Tarragona.
It means there will be little rest for the 19 year old, having just finished off Clinicas Rincon 3-0 in a best of five game series relegation battle to ensure Tarragona remain in the LEB Gold next season, and GB’s Olympic training camp fast approaching.
Van Oostrum is yet to make his ACB debut having signed a multi-year contract with the Spanish side in 2009, but has spent time practising with the team and suited up with them in the pre-season before being loaned out. He has averaged 6 points and 2.3 assists in under 18 minutes a game in the LEB Gold.
The 1993 born point guard has recently been named on the GB’s preliminary Squad for this summer after making the final cut at last year’s Eurobasket in Lithuania.
