England Under 16s in Italy
England Under-16s finished 11th in the VII Memorial Graziano Barila Tournament in Italy, where they have been competing over the Easter break.

The tournament, which was for Under-17 teams, saw England finish with a 3-4 record, taking victory in their last game by Sedale Hanson-Young’s game winning free throw to seal 11th place.

Head coach Andrea Kapoulas was pleased with the team’s progress:

“The tournament has been very useful so far in terms of competition. Our defense has been challenged and it has given us the opportunity to present to players the gaps that we need to fill to compete at the European level.”

I am not sure how this tournament is good preparation for division A, the lads should have been playing against other div A teams in an Easter prep tournament. somewhere. I would not have cared if they had gone 0-3 against Div A national teams.

It’s not bad preparation at all, Cedevita is a top Croatian club/programme. Croatia U16 are currently champs I think.
