I’m not sure if we’ve ever seen a British player with all the physical tools 2010 Spurs draft pick Ryan Richards has. At 7 feet tall, range out to the three point line, mobility, athleticism and vision, and still just 20 years old, he will go as far as he wants to.

Getting back on the court this summer with the Great Britain U20s after a long season out rehabbing from shoulder surgeries, Richards had little trouble dominating any defender that was thrown at him. His performances with the U20s, where he averaged 22.3 points and 8.1 rebounds per game, earned him a call up to the Senior side where he was the last cut from the team.

Richards is suiting up for Swiss-based side Lugano Tigers this season, where he has already been putting up impressive numbers.

The future is bright. Check out his highlights!

Filth. The man is breaking point guards handling the ball up court. Just ridiculous. Hopefully he continues to LEARN the game, because he is so talented. Size, strength, agility, coordination, shooting, ball handling.. He got it. Lets hope he continues to develop thinking the game better.

Van Oostrum, Richards and Freeland are the future of GB basketball.

Imagine if we had entered an U23 Team at the World Student games…. front court could of included Richards, Neighbour, Amaning, Gamble and a back court including Van Oostrum, Johnson, Thoseby. Would of been a great pre eurobasket preperation for some of them.

The Swiss league he is playing in right now is pure garbage. The guy should have tried to get on with a team in a better league to push him to get better. I Hope he learns some post moves and how to play better defense while out there though.
