Beats: Fat Joe ft. Raekwon ‘Pushing Keys’

Fat Joe ft Raekwon Pushing Keys
As a rapper, you know you’ve reached a certain level when people want you on their track, not to rhyme, but just to bark coke laced boasts to close out a song. It’s a fairly niche service to offer but as long as you’re the expert then you’ll stay in business. Thank god for that whiiiiiiite, indeed.

Along with a couple others from the Wu-tang fam, Raekwon the Chef is as good as anyone when it comes to possessing the ability to vent over a track and make it more entertaining than most other rapper’s 16 bars.

Fat Joe knows this. He enlisted Rae’s services to close out his most recent narcotic themed banger ‘Pushing Keys’. The slow paced soul sample rolls alongside Joey Crack’s trademark BX flow perfectly. It’s a welcome surprise to have this injection of nostalgia jolt your mind back to the days of Don Cartagena.

So there’s no doubt Jojo delivers but it’s Rae who comes away with the quote of the night:

“Talking that big money sh*t? If you got real money, you can’t count it cos that’s how much money it gotta be on the table…”

I’m glad someone said it.

A li’l something extra

Keeping with the New York theme and for those gassed about the huge news that Melo is now officially a Knickerbocker, check out Marquise Green’s Stat and Melo. What he’s done is take Wiz Khalifa’s platinum single Black & Yellow and replace those two words with the nicknames for Amare Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony. Clearly genius but is it as good as Vinnie’s Black & Guido? I’m not sure but it’s definitely less racist.
