Ross Wilson (’93) To Make Eagles Debut Tonight

Ross Wilson, the #7 ranked 1993 born in the country, is set to make his senior Newcastle Eagles and BBL debut tonight against Worthing Thunder at Sport Central.

The 17 year-old prospect is a graduate of the Eagles School of Excellence and has played in the Eagles Community Foundation Central Venue League since he was 11. He is currently the captain of the Newcastle Eagles U18 side where a number of strong performances this season have earned him a call-up to the senior side.

The 6’6″ small forward, is also a member of the England U18 Provisional squad and will join up with the England camp on Sunday.

Eagles Managing Director Paul Blake said:

“He is very, very athletic and he has applied himself well recently and has come on in leaps and bounds, so this is a reflection of that really. He will sit on the bench and, depending on how the game goes, I would hope he will get minutes, which our coaching staff are agreed he merits.”
