Jelson Homes DMU Leicester Riders’ Merseyside curse struck again last night as they lost Everton Tigers 94-87. The Riders are yet to win a game in six attempts in the north west since Everton joined the BBL last season.
Tigers enjoyed a double-digit lead for much of the second half, but seven straight points from Riders in the closing stages threatened to make things interesting at 92-85 with still more than a minute to play. Riders, however, could not get any closer and their next attempt to win on Merseyside will have to wait until next season.
Everton Tigers were led by Trey Moore’s 23 whilst Bradd Wierzbicki of Leicester continued his hot run to lead all scorers with 28 points.
